The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €2,092,244,520 of gross premiums written in the whole year 2011. This is for 0.06% less than in the same period in the year 2010. The amount of non-life premium was €1,454,184,218 (a rise of 1.16%), the amount of life premium was €638.060.302 (2.74% less). In spite of that, the share of life insurance in the total business has increased to 30.50%.

The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €1,933,919,201 of gross premiums written in the first eleven months of the year 2011. This is for 0.24% more than in the same period in the year 2010. The amount of non-life premium was €1,348,268,487 (a rise of 1.09%), the amount of life premium was €585,650,714 (1.66% less). In spite of that, the share of life insurance in the total business has risen by 30.28%.

The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €1,625,524,479 of gross premiums written in the first nine months of the year 2011. The yearly growth rate was 1.15%. Non-life premium has risen by 1.22% to the amount of €1,137,487,070, life premium growth rate was 0.97% and amounted to €488,037,409. The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €1,779,323,344 of gross premiums written in the first ten months of the year 2011. This is for 0.58% more than in the same period in the year 2010. The amount of non-life premium was €1,242,909,172 (a rise of 1.09%), the amount of life premium was €536,414,172 (0.58% less). The share of life insurance in the total business was 30.15%.

This is for 1.20% more than in the same period in the year 2010. The amount of non-life premium was €1,138,111,203 (a rise of 1.37%), the amount of life premium was €434,852,447 (0.80% more). The share of life insurance in the total business was 30.01%.

The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €1,462,916,406 of gross premiums written in the first eight months of the year 2011. This is for 1.27% more than in the same period in the year 2010. The amount of non-life premium was €1,028,063,959, the amount of life premium was €434,852,447.

The insurance companies, members of the SIA, have collected €1,136,667,792 of gross premiums written in the first half of the year 2011. The yearly growth rate was 1.33%. On 31 May and 1 June 2007, the Slovenian Insurance Association is organising its 14th Slovenian Insurance Conference. The purpose of this traditional annual event is to bring together respected national and international experts and invite them to debate the current issues in the industry.

The dynamic nature of the global economy requires flexibility and adaptability from all sectors of economy. Events in the financial sector, particularly in the insurance industry, have followed the general economic trends. Slovenian companies and the Slovenian financial sector are far from being excluded from global events. Slovenia's accession to the European Monetary Union has been accompanied by intense reorganisation of Slovenian companies. Notably, the insurance industry has enjoyed higher growth rates than the economy in general, which is mostly due to the changes in the organisation, procedures, human resources and IT systems undertaken by our insurance companies. These are some of the current topics we intend to focus on at this year's conference.

We would like to invite all interested persons to send in their paper proposals on the main topic: “The Development of Organisations and Procedures in the Insurance Industry”, focusing on the following main areas: Human Resources, Organisations, Procedures and IT Systems in the Insurance Industry, as well as any other current insurance topic.

We are inviting Slovenian and foreign experts in the above-mentioned fields to send in contributions, so that we can prepare the widest possible overview of trends in the insurance industry and supply information to anyone interested about the development ambitions of the Slovenian insurance industry.

We would like to ask you to prepare your proposals in line with the Terms and Conditions Proposing a Paper for the Slovenian Insurance Conference, which you will find enclosed.

The Information Centre of the Slovenian Insurance Association maintains a database on compulsory motor third party liability insurance (MTPL insurance) for motor vehicles and trailers registered in the Republic of Slovenia.

In co-operation with the information centres of member-states of the European Economic Area (EEA), our Information Centre provides injured parties from Slovenia, on their request, data about MTPL insurance for motor vehicles registered in other countries.

In addition to data on MTPL insurance, the Information Centre keeps a list of claims representatives designated by Slovenian insurance companies in EEA countries and Switzerland, and those appointed by foreign insurance companies in Slovenia.

If you are a resident of one of the countries of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, are an injured party in an accident caused by a driver driving a vehicle registered in the Republic of Slovenia and do not know which insurance company covers the Slovenian vehicle, the Information Centre can provide you with the relevant insurance data (number of the MTPL insurance policy and name of the liable insurance company). The Information Centre can also tell you who is the appointed claims representative of the liable Slovenian insurance company in your country of residence. To obtain this data, please enter into the relevant fields the date of the accident and number of the registration plate of the Slovenian vehicle.
